Well, the holiday season has been pretty busy so far. Sadly, I still do not have our tree up as of today. Mallory is very upset with us. Hopefully tomorrow will be the day. Last Friday Mal and I went to the Knoxvile Christmas parade downtown. We piled in aunt Tammy's van with Trey, Garrett and Chloe. We bundled up to try and brave the cold weather. Once we got there it was pretty crowded. It is funny to me how adults and older people will stand in front of small children at a parade. Even though they could still see just fine if they would let the children in front of them. I mean come on who are the parades really for? Needless to say Mallory sat on my shoulders for an hour and I have had a sore kneck for a week. Trey had to let Chloe on his shoulders also. The kids had a good time and we went to Craker Barrell afterwards which they seem to enjoy more. Mallory also had her beautiful Christmas program at school. In true Catholic tradition they sang songs you hear every year at midnight mass and kept to the true meaning of Christmas. The children wore red robes and carried beautiful candles. Mallory for the first time seems to grasp what Christmas is supposed to be about this year due to mass and her religous classes at school. She has asked a lot of questions. Next Thursday they are having a birthday party for Jesus. We are sending unwrapped baby toys to school with her so her class can donate them to Catholic Charities. It is nice to see children learning about taking care of others. As we all should.
